GETTING TO KNOW YOU!
The purpose of this post is for you to introduce yourself to your classmates. Tell us a little about yourself. Include your name, grade, hobbies, favorite music genre (style) and why, if you have any siblings and their ages, your career goal, your favorite movie and book. Do you sing or play a musical instrument? If so, what is it? If not, why not?Tell us three positive things people say about you or that you would say about yourself (example: your smile, a talent you share with others, your honesty, your even temper, etc.). You must write 100-125 words or more for your post, and your response to at least two other students in your class(50-75 words each response). What's up my name's Kevin Cuffie! I'm in 11th grade. I like skateboarding, chillin' with friends. I like JROTC. I like playing video games. Also i like writing poems and writing songs. But I never finish them. I listen to rock, rap, R&b, japanese rock, and video game music. My little brother is 9. My sister is 13. When i get older, I will try to become a computer technician. My favorite movie is the book of Eli. Also my favorite book is Pendragon. I tried to play the piano but i stopped but it got boring. People say i'm nice, smart, and i'm a good listener. I honestly think i will like this class. Thank you Ms. Green!

ReplyDeleteThank you for a great introduction. It's nice to know you like to listen to several different genres of music. Becoming a computer technician is a good career. Anybody who depends on computers (I know I do) likes to have a knowledgeable and reliable technician to fix it quickly.

Greetings to all my students.
ReplyDeleteMy name, as you already know, is Ms. Green. I have been teaching music in Philadelphia Schools for many years, and really enjoy what I do.
I started learning to play the piano at age 6,, and sang in school glee clubs and choirs as early as 4th grade. I loved playing, singing and dancing at family, church and community affairs.
I was a brownie then girl scout until I graduated from high school. My troop would go winter camping and sleep in tents. We went to the bathroom in outhouses, and cooked our meals on pits. We took late night hikes, and made s'mores and sang songs around a real campfire. We had so much fun.
I bought a Wii system a couple of months ago. Boy, do I like bowling and tennis. I feel like a real pro in action. Venus and Serena can't touch this! My bowling is much better on Wii than at the bowling alley.
I hope all of you will enjoy my class. Don't be afraid to try everything we do. We'll have loads of fun!

Hello my name is Hallodene Harris. I am in the 10th grade. My hobbies are going out with my friends, computer, reading, and whatever is fun. My favorite genre of music is gospel because it has so much to sing about, you can have a rhythm while enjoying the lyrics. I have two siblings, my sister is 17 and my brother is 20. My career goal is to become a professional modeler, or a social worker. I don't have a favorite movie because i can't choose one. I don't have a favorite book but I like romance, comedy, and spooky. I do sing but I would not sing in front of my classmates. People say i can sing, I am intelligent, and I have a lot to live for.

Hopefully taking up respiratory therapy.I love all kinds of music from Country straight down to hip hop. I enjoy learning new things from interseting teachers, espeaically in my AP english class.I love english and im doing okay this year and hope to keep up the work. And to learn a lot this year in music class.

When colleges look at your application they want to see that you are not just a good student but a good person as well. They want to see that you interact with people in a positive way.

ReplyDeleteThank you for responding. My mother was an English teacher. I taught English to 8th grade students for about a month over 15 years ago. It was interesting.
I'm glad you like to listen to all kinds of music. In class we'll be singing, playing bells and piano, and learning about many musical genres. Hope you enjoy it. See you in class.

Hello fellow classmates my name is Jamar but most people call me Mar. I'm a Freshman here at Benjamin Franklin. My favorite things to do is to go outside, get on facebook, and listening to music. I also play tennis, which I will be playin for Franklin in March when the season starts. I am a very laid back outgoing person.

I can see you spend your time wisely and I hope you will achieve those goals in life. Since you was talking about yoou was playing piano I thought I might tell you what I thought was a very awesome instrument. Well I always wanted to play the flute but that is going to be worth most of my saliva. Whoo by the time I'm done I will be dehydrated.

I wish I could sing too, but I dont think imma get any luck with that (lol) but you should put that talent to good use. It can get you very far in life as well as being social worker, just make sure your confidence is very high and you will do well in either one

My favorite music to listen to is R&B and Hip Hop, such as Nortorious B.I.G, and Meek Mills. I have five brothers and two sisters. My future goals are going to college majoring mathmatics, and hopefully becoming a nba player. If that dosent work i have a plan B wich is becoming a dermentologist. Please Comment

ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Devon Fortune and as you already I am in ms.green 2nd period music class and so far I like. I though it would be dull and kinda of boring be I'm actually enjoying it so far. I am in the 12th grade and I have all my credits to graduate without a problem. One of my favorite things to do is run track! There's almost nothing in the world that is better than getting a track without and improving in that because track becomes your life and makes you want to improve on every aspect of your life, education, friendships, relationships everything! But, I also just like the normal things that teenagers like, going to the movies, playing games, listening to music, playing sports and just getting out there.

ReplyDeleteWhat's good my fellow classmates. My name is Kenishia Prioleau, I'm a senior here at Benjamin Franklin High School. I'm in the second period class of Ms.Green in which I love going to very much. My hobbies are dancing,shopping,and talking because I enjoy during them all three so much and it give me a chance to beable to express my out look by fashion and in words. But I only like three kinds of music such as: Rap, R&B, and Hip Hop. I have two older brothers the oldest is 36. The second brother is 30. And one sister that is 28. My career goal right now is to finish my training of becoming a CNA in 5 more weeks in which I'm already half way completed at P & A Nursing and I graduate March 5,2010. However my favorite movie is Baby Boy, and I don't have any favorite book. I also don't know how to sing because it never interest me as a child growing up to learn. The three positive things that people always say about me is I'm independent , self-confident, and responsible.

My name is quincey miller im a senior at benjamin franklin high school. Im 17 years old and i want to go into the army after i graduate and go to college and get a degree in computers. i was born on 6/22/92 and grew up in southwest philly, living with my mother and grandmother. my role model that i had in my life mostly was my dad he always been there for me and kept me in line and out of trouble.

When i graduate i plan to go to college, but i do not know what Im majoring in yet. ReplyDeleteHi my name is Kianna Artis i am 18 years old, I am a senior at this upside down school. I am in the military Army National Guard to be exact. I love to hang out with my family, go out shopping and most of all reading. The music I like to listen to is rap, r&b and oldies (I get that from my mom). I have 14 brothers and sisters, i am only the 5th oldest, but i act older then all of them. I don't think i have to many talents, the only thing i know how to do is dance. I took hip hop and ballet while i was in middle school. I do not play an instrument at all sorry, but i did sing, but that was when i was on the chior in church. People say that i have real leadership qualities, and that they can always depend on me. Also i have a bad temper but i try to keep it under control because I don't want to sit in front of another shrink (don't tell any one about that). I love to laugh, I am very silly and like to make people laugh. Further more I am very caring, when ever some one is down i try to help lift them back up. Thats all about me.

I love listening to rap and hip-hop also some r&b! My older brother is 20 years of age,my younger brother is 15 years of age. My favorite book i love to read is "The Friendship". So far I've been to Miami Florida, New York, Rome, Chicago, and Jamaica. I'm a very good public speaker. ReplyDeleteHi everyone my name is Monica Robinson. I'm in the 11th grade and I'm 16 years old. A few of my hobbies are listening to music and hangingwith some of my friends. I listen to music 24-7, I can't live without my Ipod. I listen to all types of music like R&B, Jazz, and Gospel. I have 2 older brothers, yes I am the baby. My oldest brother's name is John J.R. and he is 24 years old. My second oldest brother's name is Kevin and he is 21 years old. In the future my main goal is to be well accomplised no matter what I'm doing. I do want to go into the Legal field or become a psychologist. My favorite movis are ATL, Drumline and Antwone Fisher. I don't read that often but a book that I read recently and loved was titled A Father's Fortune written by Shirley Hailstock. Many people will say that I'm a very humrous, a leader, I can be mean at times and a responsible young woman. Well that's all for now.
